Why Choose A Family Day Home?
All Family Day Home providers, and all residents 18 years of age must provide a Criminal Reference check, have First Aid/CPR training, references and must participate in ongoing training and education.
Family day homes provide a safe and secure environment.
Family day homes have to meet a set of criteria as set out in the Family Day Home Standards by the Alberta Government.
Family day homes are screened, approved, monitored, conveniently located and offer flexibility in hours of care.
The government limits the number of children being cared for in homes: this allows for small group play, lots of individual attention, lower rate of illness and activities planned based on the needs & interests of your child
A back up care system is in place in the event the regular provider is ill or takes holidays
Parents and Providers are supported through our agency by access to training, workshops and support from Child Care Consultants
Children develop deeper relationships with their provider as a result of the small group size
Government subsidy is available for families that qualify
